How I became Pugged
How I became "Pugged"
I am a relatively new exhibitor and breeder of pugs, although pugs have been a part of my life since I was 9 or 10 years old when our first, very own pug "Pugsley" , a fawn male rescue came into our family. Since "Pugsley", pugs have always played a part in our lives in some way or another. Six years ago, I decided it was time to welcome a pug again into our lives and searched high and low for a new pug family member. I wasn't looking for a rough and tumble playful puppy at the time so after many gruelling phone calls to understandbly, very protective pug breeders, Taj, a desexed male came to us from Brisbane, Qld and with him came the renewal of my infatuation with this lovely breed once again. It wasn't long before I decided Taj needed a pug playmate, and I then became interested in showing and with the arrival of Annie, (Pugjoy Titaniagoldngrace) from Pugjoy pugs in Mackay, the fun began. In time I became a registered breeder with the CCCQ (Canine Control Council of Qld) although I only breed limitedly when wanting a pup to show for myself. I have been very lucky to have had several wonderful mentors along the way enabling me to learn as much as I can about our breed and I am still learning every day.
